Program structure

The MSc HPE program consists of two semesters of coursework followed by a dissertation. The coursework spans 40 credit hours. Semester one includes foundational subjects such as Introduction to HPE, Leadership and Management, Cognitive Functions in Learning, Teaching and Learning Strategies, Community-Oriented Education, and Curriculum Development.

Semester two focuses on Instructional Methods, Problem-Based Learning, Assessment, Research Methodology, Professional Development, Program Evaluation, and Quality Management The dissertation component involves original research or a design project aligned with the program’s educational goals.

Degree Award

The University Senate awards the candidate a Master of Science Degree in Health Professions Education after passing all courses and scoring a CGPA of 3.00 or more and successfully completing the requirements of the research dissertation.

Candidates who score a CGPA from 2.5 to less than 3 by the end of Semester two will be awarded a post-graduate diploma in Health Professions Education.

Introduction

The Master of Science in Health Professions Education (MSc HPE), offered by the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Gezira, is a postgraduate program designed to strengthen educational capacity within the health sector.
